Acccsense Monitors D.C. Hospital

Customer
A Washington D.C. Hospital
Customer Background
The hospital is a multi-disciplinary, tertiary care hospital with 371 beds, 400,000 square feet of space and over 57,000 patients a year in Washington D.C. The hospital has a variety of pharmaceuticals and patient-care products that must be refrigerated and kept under control. These products and pharmaceuticals are subject to regulatory compliance audits by JCAHO and other regulatory organizations. The hospital must keep temperature logs and issue corrective actions if anomalies occur. The medication is important for quality patient care.
Customer Problem
Nurses and other hospital staff were finding manual logs and strip charts to be a cumbersome task. A nurse’s main job and goal is patient care, and taking time away from patients to log temperatures and replace strip charts is a frustrating chore.
Accsense Solution
By setting up a complete wireless mesh monitoring system, Accsense is able to monitor more than 50 points over six stories of the hospital. This way, all temperature is logged automatically, and hospital staff receive alarms via telephone, text and email if any temperatures go out of range, or if a door is left open.
Customer Results
Accsense's wireless sensors are up and running in the hospital and have already alerted staff of important situations. In addition, staff are able to use the logs to easily comply with JCAHO. Now hospital staff are notified immediately when any measurement is out of range, allowing them to get fix the issue before it becomes a problem.
Overall, the hospitals's Accsense system gives the hospital an out-of-the-box solution for temperature monitoring - quickly and easily saving time, money, anxiety and allowing nurses to continue providing state-of-the-art patient care.
